The ‘aperitivo’ was born more than 200 years ago in Turin: in 1786 Antonio Benedetto Carpano started to bottle his wine flavored with herbs and spices in a small factory on Piazza Castello. His vermouth quickly became famous and is a symbol of Piemonte. The Italian aperitivo is the concept of having a drink during happy hour, while enjoying different types of small dishes in an informal atmosphere. Two nice aperitivo bars that offer good food and drinks for a decent price are Soundart and Beerba, both located in the nightlife district San Salvario.
